Ara(X)nes detects the variation of weaving patterns throughout an adaptable aggregated system. After the geometric components were designed, the focus was to develop a design logic emphasizing the transition in differentiated weaving patterns within a membrane shell. This gradient variation within aggregated elements results in a morphological shift from two-dimensional lines into three-dimensional curved surfaces. Starting with the components of the structure, four different versions of brick are produced: brick I_ fully covered, brick II_ semi covered, brick III_ skeleton, brick IV_ indo skeleton. Based on the same frame, a slight variation so as to achieve the best outcome regarding the weaving patterns has been shown. The final installation consists of 36 bricks aggregated using 4 different weaving patterns and are connected with plastic zip ties. This aggregation looks at the gradient transformation of surface to skin. Also, it investigates the dynamic patterning of shadow caused by the brick’s aggregation. The structures weight is less than 7kg, and its dimensions are 2m long and 1m wide. This further emphasizes the design intention of creating a lightweight brick.
